David played for Oystermouth and Swansea Bay Hockey Clubs for many years and also contributed greatly to the management of the clubs. He sadly passed away from cancer in 2014.

All match fees and donations raised from the memorial tournament contribute to the family's chosen charity which is Bowel Cancer UK.

Teams have been entered from Swansea/Oystermouth, Swansea u18s and Neath.

Neath Hockey Club are the current champions so, hopefully, one of the Swansea teams will reclaim the trophy.
